Store cards can offer you good discounts just remember to pay off your balance to avoid high interest.
You might already have a store card. Store cards are credit cards that only offer benefits for the store at which they were obtained. You might get rewards for shopping at that store but that’s it. Stores often use these to boost sales and make them easier to obtain than standard cards. A Target card only offers benefits at Target, etc. They usually have high APR rates too. Fees might be charged but that is not common. Stores want you to use their cards and fees would prevent this.
Some stores have “loyalty” cards. These are not the same as store cards. Loyalty cards track your purchases and carry no balance. Grocery and pharmacy stores often use these.
